Mon - March 7, 2005Short Movie - Integrating remote tapestry component librariesThis short Flash movie shows a work in progress.
I have re-factored the palette plugin code to make it easy to add new palette
object types with their own inspectors and drag and drop behavior. The first new
types I have added are local, un-installed component libraries (contrib) and
remote component libraries. The new types display information about the remote
library and the library supplier, with links to the supplier home page and the
component reference documentation. You can drag the remote library icon onto an
application specification editor to add the library to the project. The palette
will download the library JAR file to the project WEB-INF/lib directory and add
it to the Eclipse project classpath. If you have broadband internet access you
can be using the library components in your pages in a matter of seconds. Click

on the tapestry-user mailing list. I've been thinking about how the palette can
be modified to make discovering and installing third party component libraries
an integral part of the development cycle.

own feature requests, one of the features I feel that is most important is
access to documentation.
